An unsettled week of weather...
TONIGHT AND TUESDAY
A warm front is lifting north of the area Monday, and this will result in numerous showers and storms during the afternoon and lasting through the early-to-mid evening hours. Because of this front, we have seen both the temperatures and humidity rise quite a bit.
Tuesday will be even warmer – in the 80s. Storm coverage will be more limited, but a strong storm or two cannot be ruled later in the afternoon/early in the evening.
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
Wednesday will be the hottest day of the week. Highs reach well into the 80s. The highest threat for severe weather will be to our west during the afternoon, but any storms that pop up in our heat may pack a punch.
We'll watch a cluster of storms to our west Wednesday evening that could potentially stay strong once it moves through our area after sunset lasting into the overnight hours. Please stay weather aware during this time. It is a good bet at this point that a Weather Authority Alert Day will be issued for late Wednesday, especially Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Highs Thursday will reach about 78 to 84 with hit-or-miss showers still
possible in the afternoon.
MOTHER’S DAY WEEKEND
On the back side of our system, the air will feel much less humid. Despite that, a couple of showers will be possible Friday.
Highs will reach the upper 60s and lower 70s Friday through Mother’s Day. Lows will drop into the 40s and lower 50s.
Any showers Mother’s Day look few and far between (for now), but be checking back for updates.
